Bloomsburg University’s campus sits on 366 acres and is within close proximity and walking distance to downtown Bloomsburg.  This location provides for great integration between on campus activities and features as well as what the town has to offer.  No matter where you are on campus or in town you are just a short walk from where you want to be.

Between what is offered on campus and what is found throughout town, you will never be without something to do.  On campus, the Nelson Field House is home to the Universities’ athletic fields, pool, high ropes course, outdoor climbing wall, Redman Stadium/Hale Field, tennis center, racquetball courts, lounges, and a gym.  It is also the site for home game sporting events and concerts.  Chick here to see what is coming up: 

The campus also includes the Andruss Library, a Carpentry Shop, an environmentally friendly Heating Plant that powers all of the University’s heat and electrical power, and the Greenly Center, which is located in downtown Bloomsburg.

In addition to the clubs and organizations that you can get involved in, Bloomsburg University has some well-known special weekends, along with athletic events, that you will surely not want to miss out participating in.  Below is a list and description of these annual weekend events and athletics.

Parents’ and Family Weekend – Since 1970, Bloomsburg University has been putting together a fun filled weekend for its students, their parents, and their families.  The entire weekend is jam packed with amazing events and activities that you are sure to find enjoyable for the whole family.  Some examples of events and activities include:  inflatable games, balloon sculptures, raffles, food, movies, concerts, football game, recreation events, golf, and so much more.  You can learn more about this year’s schedule and list of planned events by visiting their website here: 

Homecoming Weekend – Bloomsburg University’s Homecoming Weekend is certainly one to remember.  The day is kicked off with a parade in the morning.  Then, later in the day the annual Homecoming football game is played and you will not want to miss out on that.  The energy and excitement inside Redman Stadium/Hale Field during the game is second to none.  And of course, you will get to see the famous Bloomsburg Huskies’ mascot, Roongo.  During the game, your long waiting curiosity will finally be satisfied as the names of the Homecoming King and Queen are announced.  As the weekend draws closer, you can find out the specifics regarding the timing of these events by visiting the “Special Weekends” portion of Bloomsburg University’s website here:

Siblings’ and Children’s Weekend – A one of a kind weekend, Bloomsburg University hosts their students’ siblings, children, nieces, and/or nephews.  These special guests are provided with a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to stay on campus with their big brothers, big sisters, Moms, Dads, Aunts, and/or Uncles.  The weekend consists of a large variety of kid-friendly events that will become lifetime memories.  For more information about this weekend that takes place in the Spring, visit the Bloomsburg University website here:
