Block Party 2019 Reminders

Bloomsburg’s annual Block Party is quickly approaching. The daylong festivities will be held on Saturday, April 13th.

As always, B&L Properties would like to remind you of a few things to ensure your safety and convenience. The purpose of Block Party is to have fun with your friends and fellow students, but it is important to remain mindful of a few things as you go about your day.

So, with that being said, it is time for some tips to help your weekend go as smoothly as possible:

B&L’s Guest Policy

B&L Properties is aware that the majority of its student residents will be hosting guests for this year’s Block Party. Choose your guests wisely, however, because you are the one held accountable for their actions.

Be courteous of your house, roommates, and neighbors.

Parking Allocations

If you are planning on hosting guests on the weekend of Block Party, know where they can and cannot park to avoid any complications. Please remember B&L Properties doesn’t offer guest parking, you will need to find somewhere for your guests to park their vehicles for the weekend.

Parking is always a nightmare this time of year so be sure to plan ahead.

Don’t forget to eat and hydrate

As is the case with any outdoor event, the importance of food and hydration cannot be overstated.

This is especially crucial if you are going to be out about the town for the majority of the day. On-campus and most off-campus food locations will be open during Block for your use. In addition to that, there are typically several food trucks located around town.

Also, there will likely be a water bottle stand or two on the sidewalk on Main Street. Don’t forget to mix in some water.

Law Enforcement

Every year, it seems that the police presence at Block Party increases. This is to ensure the safety of the students, guests, and residence throughout the entirety of the day.

There was over 250 citations and criminal charges last year, according to Bloomsburg University Police.

The majority of citations given out are for violations of the town’s open-container policy.

It goes without saying, but you should really try to avoid being one of them.

So, be mindful of you and your friends’ actions and you will be fine.

Not much changes from Block party from year-to-year, but nevertheless B&L Properties urges you to be smart and stay safe as you participate in the weekend’s festivities.

Have fun and enjoy Block Party 2019.
